Allegiant is the last part of the famous Divergent Trilogy written by Veronica Roth. The book switches between the viewpoints of Beatrice and Tobias. In this episode, they start a new journey outside the boundaries of the city they live in. It may help to read the first book Divergent first to grasp an understanding of the dystopian society and their different class classifications. The book is based upon the dystopian community concept that is divided into five factions i.e. Abnegation, Amity, Candor, Dauntless and Erudite that uphold different characteristics.

Tris’s examination results declared her aptitude as equal for three of the Factions i.e. Abnegation, Erudite and Dauntless and therefore she became classified as Divergent. Divergent people’s ability to equally fall into the different faction classifications make them independently thought-like people which carries its own dangers.
In this instalment of the Trilogy, Evelyn Johnson becomes the leader and try to change the society’s culture. He forces the factions to live with the factionless people like others. This decision faces opposition and consequently leads to the confrontation between factions and factionless people.
In the meanwhile, Tris realises that the insurgent named ‘’Allegiant’’ is working secretly to restore the Faction system again in the society. The story proceeds with a lot of new characters and playing their unique roles in a war for survival. In the end, Tris died for the sake of rescuing her society from the Faction system.
In my opinion, the story is exciting and thrilling. It presents a lot of twists and revelations in the novel to the advantage of curious readers. The book contains a bit of a romance between Tris and Tobias to keep the story interesting. If you enjoyed “Divergent” this book may also support your reading preferences. One needs to keep in mind that some readers discovered that they preferred “Divergent” if compared with “Allegiant” but it depends on your own inclinations. I significantly enjoyed reading the book.
