Review and Summary of Science fiction Novel Alongside Night

***Warning Spoilers Below This Point***

Agorism became a social philosophy, idea, and concept used by Samuel Edward Konkin III. It promotes creating a peaceful society based on counter-economy in which everyone can achieve their individual profits. It includes benefits without crushing others by violence and coercion.

Counter economics presents a way to conduct economic warfare against the state by subverting the means it dictates to trade. It includes free-market, black and grey market in which they hide transactions from the government. It allows them to show disapproval against the government’s coercion in the name of taxes.

They base this novel on the ideology of Agorism and creates an Anarcho-Capitalist Society. It revolves the story around a boy named Elliot Vreeland, son of economist Dr Martin Vreeland. The story focuses on an economically collapsed US state where the black market remains to grow. The government struggles to keep hold of their power. Hyperinflation and disorder reign in the country and the government arrests people involved in the economic crises.

The story begins with Elliot’s family gone missing and his house raided by the government men and officials who wish to capture Elliot. He somehow escapes.

Elliot runs into a group of people allied together for a special purpose of revolution. It became inspired by a declaration of independence and formation of a Revolutionary Agorist Organization. They focused on plotting against the government by counter-economics. Elliot meets a girl named Lorimer and they explore the underground world of Agorist revolution.
