Catherine Fisher (1957) received popularity as a Welsh children’s book writer and poet. Besides, she worked as a university lecturer and school teacher. Fisher resides in Newport, Wales. Historically, she also took part in archaeology and lectured in children’s writing at the University of Glamorgan. She received significant popularity in her children’s fantasy books since the 1980s. Some publications include the Oracle Trilogy (2003–2005), The Speed of Darkness (2016) and The Clockwork Crow (2018). She received the Mythopoeic Fantasy Award for Children’s Literature in 2007. The recognition highlighted her literature contribution after the publication of Corbenic (2002).
