Cormac McCarthy (1933) received his popularity as an American book and scriptwriter. McCarthy published ten novels with a focus on post-apocalyptic, Western and Gothic themes. His book The Road received recognition by The Times 100 best non-fiction and fiction novels in 2010. McCarthy followed his educational career in St. Mary’s Parochial School and the Knoxville Catholic High School. His attendance at the University of Tennessee seemed unsuccessful after he left the institution without a degree. McCarthy sees his writing style as simple, with no unnecessary commas.
