David Guy Compton (1930) a British author born in London, received popularity as a science fiction writer. He used the pen name Guy Compton when he published various crime and Gothic related novels. Besides his involvement in longer length books, he also contributed towards short stories. Some of his novels include Too Many Murderers (1962), Synthajoy (1968), The Steel Crocodile (1970), Chronocules (1970) and The Continuous Katherine Mortenhoe (1974). Both Crompton’s parents took part in acting careers.
