George Orwell (1903 – 1950) is the well-known author of novels Animal Farm (1945) and Nineteen Eighty-Four (1949). George, a passionate novelist, offered strong opinions on communism, fascism and imperialistic viewpoints. He received the birth names of Eric Arthur Blair, and he had an older sister named Marjorie. Orwell formed part of a family whose father became a British civil servant and devoted his life to his work. Orwell’s mother moved him and his sister to England after he turned one year’s old. Orwell left behind distinct reflections on social injustices and thoughts.
