Review, Synopsis, and Summary of the Novel Golden Son

The Golden Son is a science fiction adult dystopian novel written by the American Novelist Pierce Brown. This is the 2nd episode of the Red Rising Trilogy where Darrow uses all his abilities and power to continue to be a rising gold. I found Darrow’s second adventure more violent, braver and better than the first and the writing style is worth praising.

It is a big hit that will become a favourite of ”The Hunger games and ”the Game of Thrones” fans. So, if you want to read the action like these novels delivered, then The Golden Son is a must-read. It strengthened Pierce Brown’s status as a unique voice in the world of fiction.

Review and Summary of the Dystopian Novel Golden Son

***Warning Spoilers Below This Point***

Deep inside, Darrow is not the real Gold. The Gold is full of arrogance, aristocracy and political intrigue and the Darrow is not like them naturally. He makes some silly mistakes that fail all his plans to free his people from slavery. He also tackles the battle carefully to fulfil his objectives and to deceive a few of the most powerful enemies.

Darrow is a brave soldier who is not afraid of sacrificing his life to destroy the system that left them enslaved for years. The novel is the combination of love, loyalty, action and rebellion. It proves itself better than its successors. When I look at the writing style and characterisation, I find it excellent. In Golden Son, Darrow also faces failure during the first time in the series. Darrow develops his whole new plan in this novel.

His personality is revealed as different because of his understanding of the Eo’s song of protest. He realised that his enemy is greater than him. The female characters are also incredible whether it is the independent Octavia au Lune or the weaker matriarch of the Bellona. Moreover, the rebellious Victra and the emotional Mustang are the exceptional characters presented.

Final Say on the Dystopian Novel Golden Son

Overall, the novel keeps you breathless and interested throughout the entire read. I cannot wait to experience another action-packed piece of writing from Pierce Brown and want to see what happens next. Indeed, Golden Son is one of the best books I’ve ever read and heartily recommend a copy to the readers. I rated it 9 out of 10 due to the completeness and engagement it delivers to its followers. Will I read this novel again? Yes.
