Hugh Howey (1975) received popularity as an American novelist who became known for his contribution to the science fiction environment. One of his best fiction series includes Silo (2011-2013). Howey also started the Silo short story series (2014-2015). Howey spends his childhood days in North Carolina and worked in different positions. Some career opportunities he followed included an audio technician, bookstore employee, and a yacht captain. During 2015 he moved to St. Francis Bay, Eastern Cape, South Africa. He manages his writing career from there. He significantly influenced the self-publishing environment when he developed an affiliation with Amazon’s Kindle Direct Publishing. Some of his novels include The Hurricane (2011), I, Zombie (2012) and the Shell Collector (2014).
