Isobelle Jane Carmody (1958) received popularity as an Australian writer who focuses on the fantasy, science fiction, children and young adult books. Carmody received the Aurealis Award for her exceptional children’s fictional novels. She worked on her Obernewtyn Chronicles at fourteen. Carmody also completed a Bachelor of Arts with majors in philosophy and literature. She worked as a journalist and also in public relations. Some of her popular books include Obernewtyn (1987), The Stone Key (2008) and The Red Queen (2015). She resides in her home in Victoria but continues to travel long distances to different destinations abroad.
