John Griffith London or referred to as Jack (1876-1916) received popularity as an American book writer, journalist and social activist. London also received recognition for his role in commercial magazine fiction and the development of the science fiction genre. Some of his popular books include The People of the Abyss (1903), The Iron Heel (1908) and Before Adam (1907). His most known publications include White Fang (1906) and The Call of the Wild (1903). London also published short stories, for example, Love of Life (1907) and An Odyssey of the North (1900). London born in San Francisco experienced a tragedy when their house burned down in the 1906 fire because of the earthquake. London’s education at large focused on homeschooling.
