James John Herbert (1943-2013) received credit as an English horror book writer. Besides taking part in full-time writing, he also practised book cover and publication designing. Herbert attracted an extraordinary number of supporters. His publications also became translated into many languages inclusive of Russian and Chinese. Herbert attended a Catholic School in Bethnal Green and received the St Aloysius Grammar School scholarship in Highgate. Also, received an opportunity to study at Hornsey College of Art and worked at Jon Collings small media agency. After Herbert left the agency, he worked as an art director at Charles Barker Advertising. Some of his popular publications included The Rats (1974), Shrine (1983) and The City (1993).
