Jeanne DuPrau (1944) received popularity as an American writer. She became famous for her novel The Books of Ember, a science fiction publication. This novel aimed to attract the interests of many young adults. The series comprises The City of Ember (2003), The People of Sparks (2004), The Prophet of Yonwood (2006) and The Diamond of Darkhold (2008). The book The City of Ember transformed into a film script during 2008. She also published other novels for example Car Trouble (2005) and Voyagers: Escape the Vortex (2016). Besides her fictional narratives, she also published a non-fiction book named Daily Life in the American Colonies (2001). DuPrau resides in California.
