Jennifer Government is one of a kind of novel written by Max Barry. If futuristic thriller is expressive, then Max Barry has truly justified with this novel because his words take us to the future and imagine how the trade of a capital free market would work, the big corporation’s rivalries and what it will take to fight a journey of your own in such a situation.

***Warning Spoilers Below This Point***
The story is based on a futuristic world, to be precise on the trade of that time. It’s a story of a young man named Hack Nike, who possess good merchandizing qualities and he is definitely worth making much more money than what he does but unfortunately, he doesn’t because of his lacking negotiating skills. But because of his undeniable capabilities, he gets a better opportunity.
They give him a marketing contract for the land but unfortunately, the poor fellow didn’t read it sufficiently before signing it and bears the consequences heavily. The contract is given by a big corporation Nike who is owned by John Nike who seems to be a nice man but sooner Hack gets to know his bitter reality.
As soon as Hack discovered the real purpose of his deal and what he is supposed to be doing in this contract, he tried his best to back off but unfortunately, it was too late. He even tried to involve the police but he couldn’t justify his point and he was in more trouble when the contract was given to John Nike’s enemy Jennifer Government, who was anything but nice.
The story is a very interesting rollercoaster ride of thriller, suspense, fear and empathy. The ways Hack finds all the possible ways out and how he challenges the problems are definitely worth reading.
Max Barry has undoubtedly written a very interesting and thoughtful story. The characters are well put together, and he has put up his emotions into words very well. However, every story has a drawback, and this one has it too. The story has its limitations as they base it on a futuristic and imaginative story difficult to digest for someone who believes in reading real stories. If you are someone like me, then you will like it a lot. I have given it 7.5 out of 10 and I would love to read this story again after a few years.
