Max Barry (1973) received popularity as an Australian book writer. He published his first novel named Syrup in 1999 and incorrectly spelled his named Maxx. Maxx became known as his pen name for the book. Barry started a blog focused on diverse topics inclusive of politics. He also received recognition as the developer of the game NationStates and helped to market his book Jennifer Government (2003). This changed into a full-scale online community. He also became the owner of Tales of Corporate Oppression website. Barry lives in Melbourne with his family and received employment as a marketer for Hewlett-Packard. Subsequently, he changed his focus to becoming a book writer. Other books Barry published included Machine Man (2011) and Lexicon (2013).
