It is an action novel based on a war that puts many people through hardship and struggle. The story revolves around Todd, Viola and 1017 who fights in a war for power, but all the characters consist of different perspectives. Mayor Prentiss is Todd’s father, who is very unhappy because of his different perspectives about war. Todd and Viola support Spackle, the group of men who want peace.
They are against the dictatorship theory and they want the tyranny to end and the war to be stopped, but on the contrary, Mayor Prentiss wants war for the sake of power. Mayor is a dictator and wants everything his way. Monsters of Men is a thrilling novel that offers so many twists and turns. Each chapter ends with a cliff-hanger approach that will urge you to read more.
So, while reading the book, it is impossible to predict the end and you will have to read the whole novel to grasp the full story. In the end, Todd dies after a shot in the chest. The Spackle tries to cure him, but he does not come back. It presents a sad ending, but a great message.
Monsters of Men is a thrilling novel, although I am not a big fan of action stories. But if you like an adventure novel to read, the whole series of this trilogy you may enjoy. I rated it 7 out of 10 because I am not a big supporter of this genre. But even so, the adventurous and unique storyline made me interested to read this novel until the end.
