Murray Davies (1947) received recognition as a Welsh book writer and journalist. Davies originated from a mining family in South Wales. He received a scholarship to study at UCW Aberystwyth and developed an interest in International Politics. He completed a Master’s degree in First World poetry. Davies accepted positions at the Mirror Group and Daily Mail as a reporter. After a 20-year career in journalism, he became a full-time writer. His book Collaborator received the Sidewise Award for Alternate History (2003). Other books Davies published include The Samson Option (2013), The Drumbeat of Jimmy Sands (1999), Blood Lines (2018) and The Devils Handshake (2013).
