Nana Kwame Adjei-Brenyah received popularity after the publication of his book named Friday Black, and the New York Times included his novel on their best-selling novel list. Adjei-Brenyah originated from Spring Valley, New York, and received his degree at SUNY Albany. He completed a Master’s degree at Syracuse University. Adjei-Brenyah earned recognition by the National Book Foundation and won the Jean Stein Book Award. He obtained a nomination on the National Book Critics Circle’s John Leonard Award and won the Aspen Words Literary Prize. Adjei-Brenyah’s work became published in the Breakwater Review, Printer’s Row and Guernica. He wrote his first book named Friday Black, published in 2018.
