Review and Summary of The Science fiction Novel Now Wait for Last Year

***Warning Spoilers Below This Point***

Now Wait for Last Year

The theme of the novel is a war not only among the world inhabitants but the galaxies. It leads the inhabitants of Earth under a group of militants called The Terrans, which led by an elected commander of the UN, Gino Molinari or The Mole. It believed in the ability to come back to life after being dead. Another party is the Starmen-who are the inhabitants of a planet Lilistar. The Terrans and Starmen are planning to partner against another alien species called The Reegs. They are the six-legged insect-like creatures with extraordinary brains.

The protagonist of the novel is Eric Sweetscent, a doctor whose specialty is organ transplanting and is the family consultant of Virgil Ackerman, who is the head of Tijuana Fur and Dye a manufacturing company of synthetic furs. The story begins when Eric honoured to serve and treat Gino Molinari. The story takes many turns when Eric’s wife Katherine Sweetscent becomes addicted to a drug JJ-180, which not only produces hallucinations and addiction but also takes the person to the past and future of the world.

Later, the story undergoes many events when Eric also becomes addicted to this drug. Exploring the future of the world, seeing that the Terrans betray Starmen to become allies with the Reegs and the Lilistar. Also lost the war. But later in future the Starmen attack and occupy the Earth in retaliation. Eric came to his present after seeing all the future and worrying about his wife’s condition which is getting worse day by day because of drug abuse and finally deciding to stay with his wife despite all the challenges presented by life.
