***Warning Spoilers Below This Point***

The popular German author, Eugen Richter, wrote the dystopian fiction novel, Pictures of the Socialistic Future focused on the German communist movement. He described the circumstances before and after the revolution.

The story of the novel starts with the main protagonist loyal to the government of that time. He thought whatever the government do, will be for their wellbeing. But they proved him wrong when he saw that the government adopted a corrupt character during the time. A significant increase in the price of various goods happened.

The protagonist noticed corruption everywhere, and the moral values of people decreased. He became more distressed when his daughter died because of ill-treatment in one of the government boarding houses. His mental state deteriorated, and he took retirement and imprisoned himself in the house. His wife also loses her mental stability.
