Review, and Summary of the Novel Rant: An Oral Biography of Buster Casey

***Warning Spoilers Below This Point***

Buster Casey is in the town of Middleton and comprises exceptional basic senses. The buster’s nickname becomes ‘’Rant’’ after a childhood prank that involved animals and victims who ended vomiting and making sounds which resemble the word ‘’Rant’’.

Rant has a great sense of humour. His nose is sensitive like a dog and he loves to be bitten by the animals like spiders and snakes. Once he was attacked by a black widow spider that caused him to get an erection. He leaves the town and moves to the city where the society was divided into two groups i.e. the Daytimers and the Nighttime, The Daytimers were respectable while the nighttimes were troubled.

The Rant becomes the Night-timer and discovered that it revolves around ‘’Party Crashing’’, the game played on streets at the night and organised by some unknown entity. The game involved crashing into other players who hoisted a certain omen like a Christmas tree or some words. Here, Rant also meets a fellow crasher and a girl with who he falls in love. Later On, Rant died during Party Crashing but his body found missing from the crashed car.

The story goes on like this. It is fast and breathtaking. It is a treat to read such a different story and you might feel obsessed with the story in the beginning. The story is full of unique ideas presented by the author you will rarely find in any other novel. There are a lot of weird but interesting concepts that grabs the reader’s attention like ‘’Party Crashing’’, ‘’Peak-boosting’’ and so on. This work is indeed a masterpiece and a rollercoaster that is more comprehensible than his previous novels.

Final Say on the Dystopian Novel Rant: An Oral Biography of Buster Casey

I have rated the novel as 7 out of 10 as I don’t have a resembling taste, however, as far as the storyline, the plot and the concept are concerned, the novel is great, I must say. It is fast-paced and full of unique ideas you will never get to read in other novels. The novel is funny enough to make you tired of laughing and intelligent enough to keep you interested in its storyline magic.
