In this plot, June saves Day from execution by taking aid from the Patriots. However, Republicans believed that Day was murdered. When Day and June make an escape and reach Las Vegas, they come to understand that the Republican leader died and his son Anden succeeded him as an Elector.
Day wants the help of the Patriots in order to rescue his brother Eden so, in exchange, Day and June agree to help them in murdering the Elector. Now, again comes the time when they both get separated to fulfil their mission that involves the killing of the Elector. However, when June comes closer to Anden, that formed part of their plan, she realises that Anden was not a bad guy. Here, June received a choice either to save the Elector or Day’s life.
In this story, we see how June makes the decision and get out of the dilemma. The story switches between June’s and Day’s points of view and also adds some new characters representative of similar strengths.
Overall, I found the novel exceptionally interesting and it held my attention until the last page. It follows the standard dystopian outline and an outstanding plot. I heartily appreciated June’s character in this episode because she reveals her true brave self, loving and independent of the other people’s wishes. Moreover, the love between June and Day also grows in this episode creating a romantic feel. The end leaves you anticipating to read the next book. I rated the book 7.5 out of 10 due to its richness, storyline and excellent emotional touch it brings.
