This novel became the first-ever book published by Polaris press. Arno Press printed a scholarly edition of The Heads of Cerberus in the year 1978, followed by Carroll and Graf in 1984.
The author bases the novel on people who became ported to a totalitarian state of Philadelphia in the futuristic year of 2118. The area contains grey dust, and anyone who inhales it becomes transported to the future. The book revolves around tracking time using portal alternatives to reach the future.
The Heads of Cerberus offer one of the most fascinating novels in history. It presents one of the first science fiction novels focused on time travel. Although the novel describes an outdated and imaginative story, it gives a pioneering writing style. This novel receives my ratings of 7.0 out of 10. Would I re-read this novel? No. Am I glad I read it? Yes.
