Richard or Rick Yancey (1962) received popularity as an American author. He received credits for his contributions to fantasy, science fiction and suspense books. Yancey started teaching English and took part in acting at local play theatres. He accepted a position at the Internal Revenue Service where Yancey worked as an agent. A significant part of his life, Yancey spent in Knoxville, Tennessee. He used the environment as a background setting during the completion of two novels. He enjoyed the publication of sequence novels, for example, Alfred Kropp (2005-2008) and The Monstrumologist series (2009-2013). The Highly Effective Detective (2006-2011) and The 5th Wave Series (2013-2016) also formed part of his publication list.
