Robert William Chambers (1865-1933) received recognition as an American fiction writer and artist. His book The King in Yellow (1895) especially obtained support from his followers. Chambers received an education at the Brooklyn Polytechnic Institute and joined the Art Student’s League. He also studied at the Académie Julian, in Paris between 1886 to 1893, and École des Beaux-Arts. Besides his art career, he received the opportunity to take part in full-time writing and publish his first book In the Quarter (1887). Other books include Ashes of Empire (1898), The Red Republic (1895), Lorraine (1898) and many others.
