Review, Synopsis, and Summary of the Dystopian Novel “The Bone Season”

Samantha Shannon’s debut novel The Bone Season is a dystopian fiction story focused on the year 2059 around an underworld criminal girl aged 19. It is an exceptionally interesting story as it jumps from a happy and successful life to imprisonment. Her struggle to survive and attempts to escape are remarkably explained in the book. This novel expressed the author’s writing competencies and provided a glimpse of her typical writing style.

Until one day, she is kidnapped by Warden, who is a tall massive guy with mysterious secrets. He captures her and takes her to Oxford with the aim to make use of her skills.

There she is kept in prison and Warden who acts as her master tries to train her to meet his expectations. At first, she finds it all disturbing but then she realises that in order to escape from this prison, she needs to stay strong-headed and do as he says.
