Review, Synopsis, and Summary of the Dystopian Novel The Envy Chronicles

Joss Ware’s dystopian series of paranormal romance novels The Envy Chronicles released in the year 2000 gained significant popularity. Joss’s work presents an unusual take on the climatic changes and natural disasters that occurred during the year 2010, and in this series, Joss Ware forward the time to 50 years from then.

The author takes us on a journey which is unusual and different from the world of today as people hold supernatural powers. This series portrays a variety of emotions like love, excitement, compassion, fear, and apprehensiveness.

Review and Summary of the Dystopian Novel The Envy Chronicles

***Warning Spoilers Below This Point***

1. Beyond the Night: The story describes a man named Dr Elliott Drake who had been in a deep sleep for 50 years and realises how the world changed out of a sudden.

His loss of hope towards life and lack of motivation returns when he meets Jade Barely, a woman who experienced a lot of heartaches but together then collected the strength to stand against their enemies and save the earth.

2. Embrace the Night Eternal: This part for me was more enjoyable to read because Simon Japp and Sage Corrigan are both on their journeys and they see things differently.

Simon Japp attempts to overcome his bad experiences and start a new life with this adventure. Also, because of his knowledge and Sage Corrigan who is the women he loves. After denial and holdbacks, they finally accept the eternal love for each other and turn it into their favour to fight the odds.

3. Abandon the Night: This third book in the series is a switch to the more steamy romantic and wilder side. It’s the most exciting part for someone who believes in paranormal romance stories. This story revolved around the J.R. Ward who meets Suzanne Brockmann and among the five people who saved the world from the enemies and proved to be a hope.

 4. Night Betrayed: Part 4 revolves around the fearful yet intimidating story which rotates around the people who survived the apocalypse. The humans feel frightened and shattered, and it explains their journey towards a brighter day but in this adventure, they learn the different ways of love and compassion.

5. Night Forbidden: This part contains the most fiction as it unfolds the story of a man who dies while fighting for survival. But offers a brought back to life by a lady who possesses supernatural powers. They fell for each other and together they destroyed the enemies.

Final Say on the Dystopian Novel The Envy Chronicles

I rated this story an 8 out of 10 for all the efforts and boundless imaginations the author Joss Ware embedded into his creation. Connecting two such different genres altogether and creating such a connective and imaginative story is tremendous, and so well blended they complement one another.

However, this story presents some setbacks such as diversity but it’s a good read. This is both for the romantic souls and thrill lovers. However, while it covers dystopian themes, hardcore fans of the said genre may experience disappointment. Will, I read this novel again? Yes, but after a while maybe.
