Review and Summary of the Dystopian Novel Z213: EXIT

***Warning Spoilers Below This Point***

Dimitris Lyacos originally published this novel in the year 2009 in the Greek language, but later it became translated into English, because of the uniqueness of this novel and demand of the readers. It’s a deep story full of emotions inclusive of fear, sorrows, hope and others.

In this novel, he described a scenario where soldiers are travelling on trains and there they come across so many various situations and threatening events that they even lose their hopes and what they see is only darkness. But even so, the battle for survival continues.

It’s a very emotional yet meaningful piece of writing, which is worth reading and touches the hearts of the readers. He explains how the darkness turns to a nightmare and how it seems to be so dark that they doubt if it may end? It’s an amazing novel with a dozen reasons to think differently, and Dimitris made it so easy with this book, which feels heartbreaking.

The reason he did all of this is to create awareness about it and make people realise their contributions and sacrifices. If you read this novel, then you will surely start thinking alike him and show empathy.

Final Say on The Dystopian Novel Z213: EXIT

Dimitris Lyacos is not a native English-speaking person but Greek still the translated version of his novel is as good and depicts the exact emotions and what he is trying to express. It shows a very dark side of the world.

The way he switches from one style of writing to another is remarkable. I rated this story an 8 out of 10 because of the storyline. However, I believe that the book could present better characters or at least one strong character. Will I read this story again? Yes, but after a few years.
